Emily approved a loan application with a single click because the system had already analyzed thousands of variables and recommended a decision. The software was fast, efficient, and remarkably accurate. As she prepared to move to the next case, she paused. Something about the applicant's story seemed unusual, and she chose to review the file herself. Her instincts proved correct. A recent life event had not been reflected in the data, and after a human conversation, the outcome changed.
